My affair with patchwork quilts & quilting began some years back when my interest in clay target shooting began to wain. The Innova long arm was not my first quilting machine by any means.
My first quilting machine was a "Juki" with 10 inch throat, with which I used a "Happy Jack" quilting frame. As time went by my skill began to increase and a definite talent began to emerge, I needed a more sophisticated long arm machine and much larger quilting frame.
After having visited many quilt shows and attended lots of machine demonstrations, I decided on the Innova machine in conjunction with their 12ft.wide extruded aluminium frame and table. A choice of equipment that has proven ideal, allowing me to become an artist at freemotion quilting. Examples of my work can be seen on this site.
I prefer to quilt by freemotion rather than use a computerised system, because although it takes much longer to complete the quilting, it gives me the freedom I need to express my ideas, or perhaps to transfer your ideas onto your completed quilt. It is all my own work so you get a uniquely designed quilt which is the only one of its kind. I will turn your quilt into a talking point, an heirloom, something you can be really proud of.
